  • Things and stuff and stuff and things

Presentation went alright, so no worries there. Just now need to actually do what I said I would, which will take the best part of a year. Keeps me busy anyways. May have to look at learning PLSQL, which looks very exciting, really.

Oh good, we have people drilling outside my window. What joy.

I am currently trying to complete the final set of races on F-Zero, a task I have put off for some time. It is beyond tricky for me even on the easiest setting. My wrists may give in before I do.

  • Late Rabbit Late Rabbit Late Rabbit

Wow, didn’t think it had been 6 days since I updated. Just been busy with life and work n stuff. Doing my first presentation today for quite a few years. Had to dust off my knowledge of Powerpoint and everything. Looks okay, just hope I don’t bore people too much. When it comes to such business things, I can be awfully dry. I’m not that scared of public speaking, I just don’t find myself to be that good at it.

Spaced is still proving to be a quality purchase, I really should put a link to it on Amazon or something here. Sometime anyways.

Going to try and motivate myself to do a little reading tonight, been a while. I am lacking in motivation at the moment, not in a negative way necessarily, more purely in a lazy way, and I do need to try and fight that. Will get there. Also am wavering just above the 16 stone mark. If I am better behaved this week I reckon I can dip under it. Few more walks, few less snacks is the key.

    01.09.04

Firstly, good luck to my sister who I think is just a day into her new power job. Hope she is enjoying it!

Good break from work and all. Hid out in Reading with mates, drinking too much, eating good food, buying too many candles for some reason (not actually associated with the drinking too much either). Got lots of fun stuff too, like a new Beastie Boys t-shirt, and the complete boxed set of Spaced, which is fantastic, S and I are working through those at two a night. Have also been watching some more Curb your Enthusiasm, saw the pilot last night, which includes Larry David doing some astonishing stand-up, well worth seeing.

In a gaming lull at the moment. Maybe I should get back to PSO for a little while, haven’t played that in far far too long. Yep, thats what I am going to do I have decided as I write this.

  • And so another financial month begins

Will not winge about my finances for at least two weeks now. Not until I have blown this months.

Olympics is nearly over, has been a great two weeks for armchair atheletes like myself, be sad to see it finish. I suspect S will be less sorry.

Off to the glamour of Reading this weekend to see mates. You can’t get a train through Reading to London because of works, and it is also the Reading festival. So its bound to be really quiet and easy to get to. Oh yes.

(Editor’s note: I did manage to get to Reading by train. It was easy. However we decided to come back just when the festival was emptying out. So there was a queue of about 5000 people at the station. We elected to get a cab home. Only cost us £70. Ouch.)

  • Haven’t I been paid yet? Grrr

Twas the day before payday and….yes I am counting the minutes til I get paid. I love this time of the month, it fills me with glee and joy.

Really do need to get on with the writing thing now. Have got caught up with sorting and tweaking stuff following upgrading the pc to XP Service Pack 2. Joy. Its mainly okay, but the filesharing programs need some more tweaking to get them going. Will work more on that tonight.

  • Somewhat more motivated

Right, tonight what I want to do is sit down and have a long hard look at what I have written in story terms so far, and see what I can do with it. Do I want to carry on, do I want to rewrite it into something else, do I want to start something else entirely? These and other important things are my task for tonight.

Organised and sorted a lot of my stuff this weekend, got things in some form of order. Cleared out some things, suspect I should clear out more. Just trying to get rid of the useless junk in my life. S would probably suggest that I need a couple of skips for that, but I am talking within my twisted form of reasoning.

Really looking forwards to a long weekend over the Bank Holiday, hopefully going to get up to some fun stuff to pass the time.

  • Chugging along

Slept more last night, but conversely feel more tired today. Suspect I have the toll of a weird weekend catching up on me, so probably more sleep due tonight. Feeling a little better today, although still a little muted obviously

Am watching the Olympics wherever I can at the moment, keeps me occupied. Needs the athletics to get started to make it really worthwhile. And shut the papers up about our lack of medals.

  • Muted

Grandpa Flotsky died over the weekend, so feeling a bit low at the moment. He had made it to 84, so he hadn’t done bad, but he’d been very ill all year, and it just all caught up on him. Just feel for me folks and my Grandma at the moment, and miss him. Not in a very writey mood, so to speak. Thinking of him.

  • Still Sleepy

But it is the weekend tonight, so I don’t really care, load up with coffee and plough onwards towards hometime. Excited due to the start of the Olympics tonight, waiting to see which random major celebrity is unearthed to do something. I reckon the lass from “My big fat Greek wedding” is odds on to be there.

Vistors from Australia and France in the past two days. I must make some sort of world map graphic and shove a load of dots on it to represent this, it fascinates me (and me alone probably).

This weekend involves a couple of meetups with friends, and starts with a lazy night in front of the tellie with S. Can’t wait 🙂 Will probably be up late watching a repeat of the Opening ceremony or something.

  • Sleepy

I could sleep a decade quite happily this morning, even had a relatively early night, but just in one of those moods where the only place to be was tucked up in bed. Onto and into the coffee it is

More coffee. Then perhaps I might write a little more
