  • dry yer eyes mate

I’m officially obessessed with the new The Streets song(that sentence is in fact gramatically correct, but still troubling). I want to record an answer record from a mate telling him to sort it all out, not be such a wuss, and anyhow she shagged the mate on the side anyways. Another side project for sometime.

Not as ill and dodgy as yesterday by a long stretch. And weight is still tipping slightly downwards.

Oh, and we seem to have been visited by both Canadians and Fillipino’s yesterday *big global wave*. And one to my sis too.

I don’t know what this game is, but I love the name: Run Like Hell

  • something by some blues player about how the night before the night before is still a problem

Friends wedding on Saturday, great time had by all, still feeling some of the effects, all my own fault, but I’ll get there. Saw loads of people I hadn’t really seen for about 10 years, very scary, but cool to see them. Will probably recount more when I feel up to it.

Operation writing loads didn’t really get anywhere, however operation be a bit less of a fat sod is getting moving a little bit, definitely shed a few pounds the last week. Walking more, not having late night snacks, and trying to improve my lunches a little all contributing. Will see how we go, but some slow progress is definitely working.

  • something by kate bush about clouds

Lousy day outside, the sort that makes you want to turn right around and break your leg the moment you step outside.

Stayed up late last night to watch “Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy” which is just a great comedy movie. Bombed apparently, which is such a shame, as it was outstandingly funny. Cruel and evil, but funny. Got some old episodes of Kids in the Hall, will have to watch those soon.

Do now have a camera phone, its lovely and silver and shiny and everything. Can post pics from it to e-mail, so if I see anything I like it will find its way here hopefully. Was suprised to find out how nice (relatively speaking) a picture of tv it took, so I now have a scene from Zelda on my phone as wallpaper. GEEKBOY!

Managed about 230 words last night, so did something, but I think I was mainly writing a short allegory for not being able to write, so I may well have to ditch that at some stage.

  • the things that the everyday folks leave behind

Record traffic to the site yesterday. Not quite sure why. When I say record I mean higher than it has been so far, rather than I’m soon going to be bigger than google. That would be nice, of course. Not sure its quite on the cards mind.

Playing a Zelda game on the GC a lot at the moment. Loverly design, but sometimes a little bit obtuse. Tricky on my aging cells, don’t you know. Must get back on with the writing this evening actually, have to try and balance my need for console gaming with my wish to write a novel. Now if someone wrote a game that was about finding and fighting things, and each thing you found or fought produced a new few pages of a novel, I would rock at that I reckon. However the staring at the screen until words come out game is a lot harder I find. I reckon if I can manage 2000 new words this week I should be happy. Bearing in mind I’ve got a little trip away this week, and I tend to find it quite motivating writing whilst travelling. If I could have one four hour train ride a week, I could easily knock out an awesome best-selling novel in, ohhhhh, 10 or 11 years, no worries.

My fads of the moment are intending to walk back from work a bit more, trying to eat a little less, and trying to smoke a little less. Those who know me should have a good laugh at the last one. Ah well, can but try.

  • taking good care of the things that we find

A good weekend. Despite the day after the Vodka Martini’s , which were lush and many in volume. I survived.

I’ve been using the browser Firefox for a while now. Its very nice, and a lot more secure than Intenet Explorer. This article from Wired explains some of the very nifty things you can add onto it to change what it does.

Also need to buy and read some HG Wells shorts stories, This looks like a good place to start figuring out what might influence me

linkathon today, list of Medical Acronyms here. Oh, and another, The Rapture Index shows how close we are to rapture. Rapture seems far away to me today. one more then, Public Archive of moving image Something that looks like it needs a good explore sometime. And this has Made me laugh

So I can make vodka martinis now. In fact I can make damn good vodka martinis, if I do say so myself. S bought us a proper cocktail shaker, which just helps to give it all that professional touch I feel. Has been a full and fufilling day, have painted various parts of the kitchen which required it, learnt some cocktail skills, and written about 500 words of the story thus far. Still need to get further into it before it feels like it is going somewhere, not convinced it is yet. But we shall see.

Today brought our first Mexican visitor to the site *big wave, being as I am such a fan of Mexican food*. Nice to see you there

  • power to the people

New phone on order, well slept, and a big hello to our first Dutch visitor *waves*. Its all excitement here this morning I tells yas.

Trying to “obtain” old episodes of the goodies at the moment. Its slow progress, but got one to watch laters. Intriuged to see how well they have aged.

Planning on sorting out some housey things this weekend, sprucing and trimming inside and out. And a bit of writing too. Managed 500 words thus far this week, which whilst shag all, is 500 more than the previous week, so has some sense of acheivement to it. Want to try and knock out something of novel length, regardless of quality, then edit it within an inch of its life and make something passable. Even if it is still then rubbish, I need to get into the discipline of regular writing (looks down at missing months of life below). Yes.

Listening to some Robert Johnson at the moment, considering its 70-80 years old, it still sounds fantastic today. Beautiful sounds. Sweet Home Chicago is just a beautiful song. I am getting the opportunity to listen to more music at the moment, its all good.

  • b-boy damager

I believe I am a day away from getting my mobile updated. Hopefully to something which will let me take pretty pictures and everything. I know if you really know your stuff, you can send it to websites automatically, along with text. Hmmmmm, I wonder if I can get that going?

One day I really will take over the world etc etc

  • its the renegade master

I only slept through the important bits of the Tour de France coverage last night, so that was okay then. Will try and get to see more tonight, looks like it is going to be a good day. Currently reading a book on corruption in football, which is a real eye-opener, especially when it comes to ex-Chelsea chairmen and ex-England managers.

No new countries to wave to today, almost disappointed. Ah well, at least the world isn’t using all my bandwidth. Must try to garden tonight, want to get my lawn and all that looking a bit more tidy. Will post a pic of it in all its glory if I remember.

Did manage to get a bit of garden clearing done. One bag at a time, I’ll get there. I also want more house plant, cactii and bonsai agogo is the plan. I have a repotting system in mind. Such things occupy my mind sometimes…

  • back once again

Good weekend, seeing rellies, drinking lots, seeing mates, it being hot (and rainy, being england). Very mellow. Yesterday saw my first Austrian visitor, although I don’t think they hung around for long *waves anyway*.

Tour de France is up and running, waiting to see if this is the crowning of Lance Armstrong as the greatest cyclist ever, or the rise of the young knight Tyler Hamilton. My sense of history wants Armstrong to win, my realism says Hamilton. It could well be a truly great battle regardless.

As you can see above, I really just a frustrated sports writer. One day I will have my dream of a column in the Observer Sports Magazine.
