  • Firefox Done

Right, tonight I have done the search engine plugins for firefox. I’ve created one for Google Images, and one for TV Cream. If you have firefox, you know the google search bar? Well you can search other search engines from there too.

If you are interested, let me know. If I have time tomorrow, I will set up a downloads section and stick them in there. Open source baby!

  • Working much better

Okay, so now the rss feed works proper, as do the links, as does the commenting. I am a genius. Okay, I am alright at messing with some scripts that other people wrote beautifully. Still, its a sense of achivement anyways.

I think the last thing I want to set up for the moment is allowing me to post from a browser, then I think I will concentrate on actually writing the diary again.

T got me listening to the Infinite Livez album a couple of weeks back. Its mental rap, well worth a listen. The description we agreed on was “if GLC are Ali G, then Infinite Livez is Chris Morris”. Barking in the best way

  • RSS feed is patchy

I’m sure the that all the potention rss users of this site (i.e. me and possibly one other person. And I amnot counting on them having read this anyways) will be very interested to know that the rss feed only half works.

You can see the stories listed in your reader, but the url’s do not work. Will fix this soon I hope.
Busy at the moment downloading IntelliJ and various versions of Java. One day this site might have
some nice Java applications I have written. Or not.

Actually, I should do a downloads section some day. I do have a thing actually work publishing, which
is a a search engine extension for Firefox (which if you hadn’t heard already, is the best thing to happen to the internet since the hyperlink). My extension adds the ability to search Google Images directly from the search bar. Which is handy if you use it a lot (I do for various reasons, mainly for doing bad photoshops

  • RSS works now

Cool, the url to add is http://www.flotsky.co.uk/cgi-bin/blosxom.cgi/index.rss to your rss reader. I suspect its not all configured correctly yet, but it should show all the stories as they appear. I am having “issues” with getting the base url right for everything. Will mess about with that later on.

  • Working better

Well that is a little more like it, got the links above working, and the style sheet (wot gives it the look and feel) works too. Feels some sense of achievement. Which is nice.
Might try and get the rss feed working tomorrow. Well tonight. But later.

  • All Gardened Out

Bloody knackered. Edged the lawn, put in the edging stuff, and collected loads of crap. Still looks like a hell-hole, but its my hell-hole. Settled in with S now for a quiet night of too much wine, possibly some SingStar, definitely some crap TV. Bit brain-dead and tired.

Will have to do some more work on the site tomorrow. Haven’t got some stuff working yet I would like to work. Namely style sheets and the links above. Its a matter of figuring out directories. I’ll get there one way or another.

Have paid off my first house in Animal Crossing. This is an achievement of some nature. Not a lot to be fair. But I think I now have a quarter of all furniture in the game too.

  • Chores

I have every intention of doing some gardening today. It is partially because my garden looks a bit of a hell-hole today. I’m just off to buy some edging for the lawn and a tool to edge it. I live life on the edge.
    *Stabs brain a little*

  • New Start

So, this is my first proper post in the new blog. I fancied using something different this year, and this is written using a program called Blosxom. It is a perl-based blogging system, with a lot of possibilities for setting things up. I am hoping in the near future to configure this blog to allow comments on postings, and to allow me to post from a browser. Which is nice. It is a very nicely written program, quite easy to set up. I will probably spend a little time getting the look and feel right.

  • Coffee is your friend

London was good, managed to learn a lot about the exciting world of PL/SQL. May well mean I start writing a lot of stuff in that, as it is certainly very useful. Will be investigating some things to do with that today. Also visited good mates TnB over the weekend, and swapped Christmas pressies. I know have the Sega Superstars EyeToy game, which is entirely worthy. There is a Super Monkey Ball game where you control the ball as if you were a kid pretending to be an aeroplane, which is sheer comedy (and tough on the arms too). Will have a good go of that this weekend, along with the dance mat I picked up recently

  • Not quite a cobweb, but close

Just got to get my writing mojo back basically, not feeling that inspired right at this moment. Hmmmm. Will try and knock out more soon, just not been that bothered to update. Off to London for two days for another course, will be hoping to try and get my brain going a little whilst I am down there. What is amazing is that despite my laziness, traffic to this little dull corner of the internet seems to be as high as ever. Lots of search engines like to come and have a look (hello to all the search engines) but enough real vistors to be a surprise.
