Post Number 500

Have I really written this much crap? Well, it would appear I have. Ouch. Well, I have been posting backwards as well as forwards, I know have posts going back 21 years on here, culled from old diaries and the like. And I can sometimes be prolific with my regular stuff.

I’m having a cup of tea to celebrate. Actually, I’ve got something else to celebrate, I’ve just helped a friend move their blog to their own domain. No thanks to google, who have messed up the old site’s url. I am still chasing them about it, but they’ve cost me a night for what should have taken 20 minutes. They’ve released some new features today, and in doing so I reckon they’ve messed some old stuff up. Anyways, to see an incredibly involving blog about pregnancy, motherhood and well, life, head to doing it all again. One of the best reads in blogging.

Speaking of which, blogging really entered the UK mainstream today. There was a fairly sensible “What is blogging” feature on the Richard and Judy show this afternoon (sort of the UK Kathy Lee and Regis, for our foreign readers). No scare stories, not much stupidity (Richard Madeley said the odd stupid thing, but that is his job), all very positive. Nice to see the straightest and most mass-market tv is paying attention now.

Oh and finally, my comments are under attack from spam at the moment. Happily the protection built into WordPress seems to be dealing with it fine. I approve all comments by hand, and so I just see the emails notifying me, and go in periodically to delete the spam. Bit of a pain, but the way WordPress works makes this very easy.
