Obviously I am leaving out 20 tonnes of hip hop. But, according to my itunes, these are the songs I listen to most. After that comes Dry the Rain – Beta Band and Waterloo Sunset – Kinks. Funny cos I would have thought Run DMC, Jungle Bros, PE, etc would be in there but they are a bit down the chart. Wu Tang is higher than them all.
WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN?
Five is definitely not enough, but:
Afterglow – the Small Faces
That’s Entertainment – the Jam
Late Night Maudlin Street – Morrissey
Indoor Fireworks – Elvis Costello
Mr Pitiful – Otis Redding
this is tough (wouldn’t be interesting if it wasn’t) – my thinking is – a bit of country, a bit of 70s rock, my fave band of the last 5 years, a current fave indie-song that I’ll probably never listen to again once the current obsession with it runs it’s course, and an all-time favourite song that I’ll never tire of
She – Gram Parsons
Stay With Me – The Faces
Molly’s Chamber – Kings of Leon
The Infanta – The Decembrists

My five:

Oasis – Champagne Supernova
808 State – Pacific State
The Verve – History
