Thanks to the Wrestling Bard for this tip, via their Favourite Matches of the Year list. It’s a fantastic match with a load of moves I’ve just never seen before. I think it’s the combinations of finishers towards the end that did it for me, just haven’t seen that used so well before. The match is from Dragon’s Gate, and pitches the champions Speed Muscle (Naruki Doi and Masato Yoshino) against New Hazard (Shingo Takagi and BxB Hulk).
A set of early 80s TV commercials promoting the excitement of playing Atari VCS. You have Morecambe and Wise, and also in one instance Trevor Brooking. So many things I love brought together in a few short clips. And Trevor Brooking. See them echo the I’m a Mac/I’m a PC with the boring technophobe Ernie brought into the word of gaming by the savvy Eric. See how much better it is when you unite the two worlds, rather than compete with each other. No need to respond with confusing Jerry Seinfeld commercials here, it’s all clear. Well except that once he’s got Ernie hooked, it leaves him free to do some snogging.
It’s been said that people in America are turning to the Daily Show and the Colbert Report for real insight into current events at the moment. But to TNA as well? Possibly one of the strangest things you’ll see on a wrestling show ever, a serious and thoughtful discussion of the upcoming presidential election.
